Two Things: Style Pros
Will just look at these two exemplary displays of styling? On the left: a ladylike blazer is contrasted by the intrinsic casual nature of a well-worn tee. The LV bad is an immediate luxe touch, and it works so well with a pair of toothpick distressed denim. My favorite touch, though, are the Modern Vice summer Jett in a cherry red. They are divine and I want them.
On the right: a more moody color palette is at play, almost masculine. The Isabel Marant parka is in the same hue as the relaxed way-unbuttoned shirt, revealing a delicately layered necklace. The pants are no-fuss and are hastily tucked into my favorite shoes of the moment, the Balenciaga cut out boots. The slicked back hair and total lack of purse makes this seem completely effortless and almost too cool.
Which to you prefer? I'm torn. I really am.

A Perfect Mix

Taking such an iconic logo marked bag like a classic monogrammed Louis Vuitton and mixing it with unexpected neon touches and python-like prints is so refreshingly genius. Such out of character accessories: a portfolio case in lieu of a boxy Céline-esque bag, with gold-tone zippers bringing the yellow tones in the Louis Vuitton monogram, the sunglasses, and the shoes subtly together. Enough to fool your eyes and brain into believing that this sort of crazy combination happens all the time instead of what it really is: a perfect mix.

Meanwhile, In San Francisco...

Karen Walker Number One Crazy Tortoise sunglasses, Kate Spade pumps, J Brand skinny jeans, J. Crew jacket, Marc by Marc Jacobs purse, wearing Dior Water lilly nail polish
While New York is doing it's Fashion Week thing, my daily life in San Francisco has been the complete opposite of winter. It's been pleasant weather-wise, and I couldn't resist bringing out my recent shoe addition: a Kate Spade satin pump. They were on my mind all of last fall because they reminded me so much of the Louis Vuitton Fall 2010 pumps with the oversized bow, and unlike the incredible Manolo Blahnik BBs, they have a completely doable chunky heel. Full disclosure: they are not very comfortable, seeing as how there's an incredible 4"+ pitch and no platform whatsoever — hence what makes them a classic. They are feet killers for sure, but they look so damn good with everything and manage to elevate a simple jean jacket and skinny jeans combination that I can't even care about their uncomfortable nature. That and they were literally 60% off on Zappos.
