Dark Night, Star Bright

I'm a sucker for all black. You know this. Everyone knows this. But did you know that I have a certain soft spot for funnel necks and leather accents? Little details like these just propel a regular piece like the Helmut Lang coat on the left into something spectacular. On top of that, if you would have asked me a year ago, nay, a month ago, if I'd wear gold and black together in any situation, the answer would be a steadfast "NOPE.COM". But seeing this beautiful 3.1 Phillip Lim and Tom Binns combination is just stunning. It's less of a "look at me, I"m GOLD" and more of a "look I can wear gold and not look tacky." On the shiny theme, adding the patent leather, totally menswear appropriate, Gucci shoes is just to keep this a little on the Annie Hall kind of sexuality.

Let's Take A Minute To Appreciate the Black Swan, Tulle Gucci Confection Emma Stone Wore Last Night

It's risky for sure, seeing as she was dressing so buttoned-up and proper prior to this priemere for The Amazing Spiderman. I have to say, I'm pretty obsessed with this. The sheer tulle interpretation of a trendy slit, the deep plunging neckline, belted waist, and a modern take on lace on the cap sleeves.  If a parisian red carpet professional like Marion Cotillard wore it, I doubt people would be on the fence at all.

This Whimsical and Happy Outfit Will Be Useful To Nobody, Unless You are In Turks and Caicos or Somewhere Equally Fanastic.

The reality is that I am not anywhere remotely close to Turks and Caicos, but if I was there I'd like to think I'd be in such a celebratory mood to wear a fine knit sweater like Meadham Kirchhoff's lamb short-sleeve one near the sand and water. I probably wont, you know, it's too hot. But let's stay there in that happy dream where we live like an editorial and wear expensive items where we shouldn't. Where we wear clean blue knits with whimsical frolicking lamb embellishments and pair them with plantation print bikinis by Jets by Jessika Allen. The print reminds me of Altuzarra. Which I love and am obsessed with. The Gucci sandals are suede, so be a grown up and take care of those because they are beautiful. The Miu Miu glasses just plain fun. We will ask ourselves why we didn't bring the glittered ones instead of the fun tortoise shell sunglasses, and just spend entire minutes pondering this life decision. Because you can. Because you're on the beach.

Go Big Red

Oh how far we've come, self. From a staunch enthusiasm for black on black, and moody outfits, and high buttoned collars, and now to a fire engine red monochrome beautiful look based on none other than Mirsolava Duma. There's no collar to be found on the Paul & Joe Sister silk elephant print shirt and nothing but chic about the Gucci cropped wool pants. Accessorizing after Miroslava, I paired it with a classic pair of half-frame Ray Bans and a chili pepper looking Isabel Marant boho chic necklace set. The shoes are Alexander Wang and they add just a touch of athleticism to this otherwise classic look.

Feeling Blue

There's something to be said for staying very edited and to one or two colors. And there's also something to be said for easy outfits to throw on when you've got absolutely no time. When my head's in crazytown I keep it simple. A classic Maje shift dress turns edgy with the addition of leather sleeves, the Eddie Borgo necklace is timeless, and the Michael Kors clutch brings it all together in an effortless way. I'm seriously considering those Givenchy cat eye glasses, perhaps an early birthday present from me to me?

The Gucci pumps are on sale, FYI.
