Model Home: Chloé Pre-Fall 2014

Ever wonder what kind of life the models strutting their stuff for collections would live? I do all the time. It's a practical fashion question that I must ask because I do not live in the beautiful world of slim giants and designer duds all the time. In Chloé's Pre-fall world, the models are a) cool as shit, b) nonchalant as ever, c) killing it sartorially and d) make up is on point. The first model home is one of my favorite looks from pre-fall: a structural bohemian little outfit, that makes me rethink what minimal and boho is, in a good way. I imagine this girl lives in a pretty little room, full of natural light, and earthy touches, but also very edited and minimal.

The second model home is a representative outfit in the almighty pursuit of the athletic, nonchalant French girl. I've got my 5'3" height working against me looking like a tall slender thing like the model here, but those track pants are elongating and drapey. Love the luxurious take on the typical track jacket, with black shearling and leather details.

Warm & Fuzzy

I'm in a winter state of mind as I write this because I'm getting notifications of "What's New" from online shops and my wish list is growing rapidly. The latest look I'm obsessing over is just a modified version of what I like for summer. Sure there's a collar, but now it's a fur Marni collar. Worn over a patterned Chloé sweater and with adorably colored merlot Charlotte Olympia half calf kitty flats. The same kitty flats in black that I have been obsessing over for months. The bag, always that bag, is the classic Proenza Schouler PS11 in navy. Why navy? Because I'm still in a Summer Olympics spirit and realize that when red white and blues in an outfit are more berry and gem colored, the overall effect is less patriotic and more like this.  Delectable. Last but not least are a leg-elongating pair of wool Joseph pants, because I'm 5'3" and my aspirations to be tall have been replaced with finding ways of looking tall.

Neapolitan

Dressing as ice cream? Not a foreign concept on this blog, since the last time it was raining I decided to dress up as an ode to Mint n' Chip. Today, I'm in a brighter spirit and dressing up after a personal favorite of mine Neapolitan. It's not the flavors that get me, it's the color combinations. Pairing the most delicate pink with the prettiest cream, and then cutting it all down with a rich black. It's lovely.

3.1 Phillip Lim knows what I'm talking about seeing as all the pieces for Spring 2012 happen to be individual confections themselves. These 3.1 Phillip Lim zipper detail pants have been on my mind since they paraded down the runway with a cool flutter detail. They're both athletic and feminine. The Elizabeth and James top compliments the athleticism with a cross back top, but keeps it dressy with a satin finish. Let's move on to the rich black side because it has the most exciting shoes you'll ever see this spring— the Versus Decollette pumpThey come in sorbet colors, too! They are structural, patent-leather, and most of all, just so freaking cool. I'd wear those literally forever. The classic Chloé bag is a nod to the structure in the Versus shoes, and the the top is light as air Prism sunglasses, calling on the mesh transparent detail in the pumps.

Lovely, no?

Creatures of Comfort, Chloé

Cool Blues and Calming Blush Tones At Chloé

There's something really comforting about these detail shots at Chloé. It's full of soft layers, piled on top of each other like a Snuggle commercial. Down to the long hair tucked into the high necked knits, like you do when it's really chilly. There was a certain sportiness to this, too, which I really liked. The idea of not taking yourself too seriously when you're wearing a pencil skirt, and piling on layers to make it ultra cozy. I loved the palette, the styling, and the overall sense of calm. Love!

Speaking Of Pleats, Let's Just Talk About How Wonderful The Combination of Airy Pleated Silk & Rough Buckle Shoes Are In This Photo

This mint green dress from Chloé Resort 2012 is not a tent. Nope.
Let's be clear, it's an ethereal dress that hits all the right spots on the body — cinching the waist, the shoulders with slight volume on the sleeve, contrasting the neckline — so when there is movement, it looks like this.
Those shoes are great, although I'm sure the same look would be achieved with Chloé's multi-strap Mary Janes. On sale!!! (They run way small, beware).
