WEARING
MANSUR GAVRIEL mini bucket tote. I have an extra for sale on my tictail shop!
My best friend bought two bags and decided she doesn't want the brown version.

Naiveté Via Volume

I like how a crazy voluminous top like this one makes the overall silhouette of this skaterific outfit look really schoolgirl and even naive. I like how playful it feels when I'm wearing it, even though I'm positive Nick would love to see me in something more figure forming. I really have nothing more to say in this post. No deep thoughts, no nothing. But I will mention that shopping resale sites and other bloggers' closets is my new favorite thing. This Céline top is from a blogger's resale site, and even though it's seasons old to me it feels brand new and super "me." I highly suggest it, people.

WEARING:
CELINE top (size 38)
MADEWELL denim (size 26)
VANS shoes (size 7)
COS collar

The Céline Effect / Little Hands

Gesutural hands as accessories and brooches are a pretty little creepy thing I like to add to jacket lapels or cardigan seams. I like the sinister undertone of this Duoh pin, and the idea having what looks like a doll's hand on a collar rather than the usual anonymous bling. Who can we blame for this? Probably Céline. Always blame Céline (see below). So I guess you can spend $520 below and get the Phresh out the Runway ceramic Céline pin, or you can interpret this eery trend your own way with a brass one from Duoh, or a cheekier version by Casa Malaspina. I already own all of the avaialbale hands in both parties, and I have to say the effect of the hands group love is nothing less than charming.

Ain't Them Bodies Saints

KATE YOUNG FOR TARGET  dress  /  CELINE shoes

Sometimes you watch a movie and realize that you wished you lived in that time period. Design Sponge does a crazy good job at breaking apart the actual logic of how you can live in your favorite movies, and with this dress I actually felt like I could live in the Western crime thriller. This review of 'Ain't Them Bodies Saints,' by my favorite film critic A. O. Scott, sets the seen pretty perfectly:
We are in a land of courteous lawmen and soulful outlaws, skinny women in plain dresses and squinty-eyed killers in black hats. These folks ride around in battered pickup trucks and peek out through the screen doors of peeling clapboard farmhouses. Occasionally one of them will aim a rifle or a pistol in another’s direction. An older fellow says “howdy.”
Sure, the dress isn't quite plaid, but it's certainly old fashioned in its architecture. The best part has to be when I bought it from Target and realized that a dress from Target could fit me this pretty. (Do me a favor, though, and ignore the crazy collar that is slightly flipped in some of these. It was a windy day and I love these photos Nick took.) I guess my point with this post is that sometimes the clothes in your closet take on a brand new shine after a healthy dose of inspiration. In this case, the beautifully shot moody movie left me wanting to pout dramatically in a lady like dress for the afternoon. Layer on top of the a healthy dose of moisture from the recent heat wave, and we've got ourselves some moody makeup to boot.

Catbird & Céline

Rosie Huntington Whiteley, Weekend Cool

Wearing a Pierre Balmain Jeans with zipper details and an enviable Céline Phantom Luggage tote in a gorgeous suede dark green. I'm really liking the concept of eschewing the use of jet black accessories in favor of darker, rich jewel tones. Note to self: jewel tones (and Céline bag)

Won't you join me in staring at it's beauty?
