LEGGY, CONSERVATIVE

Wearing: Tokyo Bay watch (courtesy of Tokyo Bay), Zara knit, shorts, and bag,  J. Crew flats, Repossi Berbere ring

The mullet of Indian summer: cozy winter-ish on top, exposed and summery on the bottom. It's a good balance for October when it's southern California warm in the day time and northern California chilly at night. Gotta love Zara, this oversized minimalistic bag is just what I was looking for, at about 100x less than I was willing to spend.

Nothing special is all I need lately. Taking a sobering look at what Fashion Month has produced, asides from the collections, and it is sadly overwhelming and artificial. For someone who is a fan of fashion, who likes the inclusivity of the shows being available online, it becomes very tiring to see blurry images of the same thing over and over. What's the rush? Like I mentioned last week, and how Amy Odell fantastically worded it, I am yearning for less of the same content and more of an opinion. Head to toe styling off and on the runway of impracticality has made me run to what I know; black, monochrome, basics, proportions, in sober colors.

It's Never Too Early For Fall, Particularly 3.1 Phillip Lim's Sheer Pants Runway Kind Of Fall

Zara studio sheer silk pants, Kate Spade bow pumps, Zara parka, Theory knit, Theory dress

What choice do I have when the beautiful sunny weather goes away and suddenly the mornings, afternoons, and evenings are filled with the unmistakable (sad) chill of winter? None, that's what. So I mix it up a couple days and start test driving out a couple Fall 2012 looks I was obsessed with when they walked at New York Fashion Week. This one is all 3.1 Phillip Lim. This floored me:

The idea of a tiny mini skirt in a matte leather looking all the bit classy was mind-blowing. You dress it way down with a pair of sheer pants and over-dress the top with a loose knit. It's a great way to wear a classic pump in a completely new way.

Cool Blues and Calming Blush Tones At ChloƩ

There's something really comforting about these detail shots at ChloĆ©. It's full of soft layers, piled on top of each other like a Snuggle commercial. Down to the long hair tucked into the high necked knits, like you do when it's really chilly. There was a certain sportiness to this, too, which I really liked. The idea of not taking yourself too seriously when you're wearing a pencil skirt, and piling on layers to make it ultra cozy. I loved the palette, the styling, and the overall sense of calm. Love!
