Feeling inspired by two things at the moment: Carine Roitfeld and the lean and mean look of futurism. It's easy to explain the source of inspiration from Carine Roitfeld, she's famous for her point of view on fashion (seen now in her amazing magazine CR Fahion Book), her personal style, and her iconic confidence to be daring and extraordinary in said fashion. This recent shoot for Net-a-Porter Magazine showcases her feminine sense of styling with the ability to mix in over-the-top, yet deceivingly minimal pieces — check out those sunglasses in the last shot. I'm absolutely in love with the first shot, layering a skimpy, strappy dress over a long sleeve top. This was my mantra growing up, never having been a fan of showcasing all that skin. What's even more amazing is how she handles career, aging, motherhood, and even grand-motherhood with such grace, with the same adventurous spirit as a woman in her 20s. It's incredibly inspiring to me.
What's more exciting is that Net-a-Porter offered my the opportunity to curate a shop of my favorite picks showcasing the futurism trend. It's no surprise then that I chose shiny metallics, super clean pieces, and some hefty metal accessories. Shop The Future Is Now at Net-a-Porter »
