Brace Yourselves

via Vogue
Tomorrow is a brand spanking new week. Just a little reminder for those playing along that there is no spending until January 15 on any clothes, accessories, or silly shit. We've got a tax bill to pay, and by God, we're going to save some money. Also, there is no drinking during the week. That means I'll try my best to get my butt up for working out so I can better fit into what I consider my dream purchase for 2014: a pair of leather pants.

Let's do it!

Hanne Gaby Odiele, Modern Mod

What a beautiful statement and a compelling argument to keep it simple. It's the most stylish iteration of a basic pocket tee that I've seen in a while. I ilke when an outfit is composed of two or three things at most, with virtually indiscernible designer labels except for one powerful "it" item. In this case, the Valentino Va Va Voom clutch.

In A Colorful Mood

The fact that Hanne Gaby Odiele can make a can look fashionable is a true sign of a style icon. I vacillate between an intense love for monochrome, black and subdued hues, and then explode with an immediate need of color. This is one of those instances and these photos are the catalysts.

NYFW: 10 Crosby Derek Lam

Another collection, another opportunity to wear deep red for Fall 2012. I'm really into the 70s influences in this 10 Crosby Derek Lam collection. I adore the dinosaur printed buttoned up top in the first photo. The continuing use of button up shirts is something I'm really happy to see. The addition of textured knits in in school girl peplum shapes, topped off with white leather accents and fur is irresistible to me. Plus, it's Hanne Gaby Odiele! She wears this collection so well and infuses it with her own quirky and renown style.
