Boy by Band of Outsiders Gear Up for Battle

Suiting up for war with well-known tailoring seen in dozens of financial districts and offices, but in fabrics more native to a rural countryside or on the backs of a certain counterculture gang/tribe/troup. I love the ragged white tanks and the military take on something so formal. The end result is pretty youthful and refershing. With a restrictive palette shared by the good ol' US Army, it gives a whole new meaning to the term "power suit" when it's styled with strappy leather sandals, glossy tresses, and a battle-inspired makeup.

Cheerful Tendencies

The return of the sneaker. You got to love it. Sooner or later we'll see the full frontal return of 90s grunge, and plaid, and the Spice Girls.  In the meantime, this is an outfit for wishful thinking.  Shop it: Marni bracelet, The Row for Superga sneakers, The Row sunglasses, Boy. by Band of Outsiders skirt, The Row clutch, Minor Obsessions star bracelet, Ralph Lauren Black Label top.

Railroad Crossing

A little school girl, a little hard edge. I just want to show off the ode to railroad fashion that is the Boy by Band of Outsiders suspender skirt. It's adorable because the criss-cross is on the front versus the traditional overal up-and-down suspenders. This extra attention up front means everything else is scaled back to gamine. Enter the Toga Pulla polo shirt. It has flutter details on the short sleeves, which is almost like a puff sleeve, but cooler. This option by Boy by Band of Outsiders works just as well. Simple outfits compliment simple accessories, like Givenchy sandals and a fine pair of The Row sunglasses.
