Counterbalance

VANS shoes, VINCE dress, MANSUR GAVRIEL mini bucket bag

I love the idea of super feminine dresses, with flowing details and precious silk materials being counterbalanced by the masculinity and grungy look of skater shoes. I also enjoy the idea of actually being able to comfortably walk in my dress while running around town with my mom (who took these photos, isn't she talented?) This combination of sporty (read: slacker skater) and feminine kind of makes me feel like I'm revisiting my high school sartorial sensibilities. And you know what? I feel like I've gone full circle, experimenting up and down with the highest heels and what not, only to come back to what I've known to feel like the most me.

People Should See How We're Livin'

MADEWELL top (on sale!)  // KATHLEEN WHITAKER earrings  //   ZARA pants  //  VANS shoes  //  ISABEL MARANT ETOILE coat

Welcome to the new work week, everyone. Where the one most important thing in my post-vacation wardrobe repertoire is the realization that I can still wear stretchy pants in the real world (in this case faux leather) as long as it's paired with a long jacket, like my dream jacket I scooped up earlier this year by Isabel Marant. Vans are still in order because I'm loving the tomboy vibe they give me versus the typical high-heeled shoe. As if the long jacket wasn't enough, I also highly recommend a long dainty earring to offset a round face. My ultimate favorites are by the super talented Kathleen Whitaker. She can do more wrong, and continues to kill it with each collection. These are investment pieces for sure, but trust me, you'll understand the meaning of "Fine Jewelry" when you own a piece from her.

Jeans that Make Me Feel Like Some Botticelli Chick

AG JEANS legging ankle jeans and top (c/o AG Jeans) / ETOILE ISABEL MARANT coat / VANS slip ons / KATE SPADE bag

There is something magical in finding jeans that fit perfectly. This is absolutely a woman thing, men (if you're even here reading this). Why is it so hard to find great jeans? You'd think that after my last post on the subject this search for a repeat win would have been obvious — "just buy the same type as last time, Olga!" — but no. I ventured into the land of boyfriend jeans for months and came back a complete novice when it came to the perfect skinny fit. That is until AG Jeans caught wind of my deep admiration on their fit and kindly gifted me what is now my absolute favorite everyday-pair of jeans.

A favorite pair of jeans must achieve two important things: a) stretch to fit my butt perfectly without weird draping in the seams and closures, b) make me feel slim and confident. This is exactly what the legging ankle does. If I have 10 minutes to get dressed, these are what I reach for because just fit.  Also, I'm 5'3" and I love when an ankle jean keeps its promise about its length, too. I highly recommend these. Go get a euphoric high, pose in front of a beautiful bay waterfront and report back please. I promise you will not be disappointed.
