K.I.S.S.

Let's keep it simple. My palette is clean, and I in the mood for something that is equally minimal. Carven's silk printed top is amazing. I'm still not over hyper-realist prints and this particular one is so pleasing to the eye. The landscape brown is gorgeous and neutral, and it's only natural to layer the Carven top over a pair of Michael Michael Kors silk pants.

Silk pants, remember when we tried that? Pajama comfort, YES.  The accessories, I must admit, are a bit of dream items for me. The J. Crew Tillary tote is like a modified Céline boston bag and I need to have it. Unfortunately, it doesn't ship until May. So good luck with that one. The YSL Spring 2012 platform pumps are here because I am in love with them. They are available for pre-order if you choose to drop some serious cash on them. So, again, good luck with that one. And finally, to end on a high note, some completely attainable Eddie Borgo studs in turquoise.

Sworn to Fun, Loyal to None

I recently discovered the tao of Zoe Karssen and her graphic tees. Yes, graphic t-shirts. As in the ones from junior high that haven't been in my closet for years. Vintage band t-shirts, gym shirts....witty sayings. But this, this I like. I think I'll make it my new mantra: sworn to fun, loyal to none.

Amazing. Simple.

In all reality, I'm a 100% subscriber of Conan's "Work hard and be kind" mantra, but sometimes the industry you're in doesn't play by these same rules. So I'll subscribe to Conan's way of doing things and wear something a little more selfish, liberating, awesome to get by

I'm putting on this  Zoe Karssen tee with a fantastically textured jacquard Acne pencil skirt and coordinating Yves Saint Laurent cap toe pumps. Piling on the Eddie Borgo cone bracelets with pavé crystals and a gunmetal and turquoise necklace, and finishing the look off with minimalistic pyramid studs by Anita Ko, who is another absolute favorite of mine.

Spotlight: The Diaphanous Acne Nori Dress

(Acne Nori asymmetrical Dress, Alexander Wang shoes, YSL ring, Karen Walker sunglasses)
Every once in a while you come upon a dress that is just inexplicably alluring, and for me this Acne dress was just that. It's cut asymmetrically which means the silk has movement no matter what. Instant romanticism, no? What I like most about it is the ability to harden the image, by pairing it with a structured blazer, and black modern shoes. It toughens it up, giving it a work-appropriate edge, while keeping a hint of feminism, without going overboard.
