See by Chloé Goes All Black

In a runway collection of the typical Chloé pastels and light colored layers, it was this one singluar look from See by Chloé that captured my attention. All those frilly layers translated into an all black ensemble suddenly felt city-ready and a little bit bad, right down to the black socks with the patent leather cap toe pointy flats. Love the model, too, Melissa Stasuik. Last seen making me want blunt bangs and bed head at Proenza Schouler, now making me want to pair crisp tailored pants with black socks.
Surfer Minimalism
The unexpected slouchy touches, countered by impeccable tailoring and playful prints. See by Chloe Resort 2013 represents everything I want to wear to work, on the weekend, whenever. Sleek athletic touches, modern cap toe pumps, proportionally appropriate layers. It takes a lot of thought to make sure that this many layers of fabric don't overwhelm a body, but every cut, crop, and drape is perfectly placed to insure just enough allure. Perhaps the most lovely feature is the timelessness of the collection. Pre-fall? Resort? Who cares? It's slightly retro enough to be now, and based on classic silhouettes to ensure these will always be a chic choice.
