Two Things: Rosé + Non-Resolutions

via decade diary.
Today is the official Back to Work day. Ugh. All I want is to curl up in bed again and continue to sleep this pseudo-cold, pseudo-laziness away while I watch some trash on TV. Alas, that is not reality. There are bills to pay and such, so I guess I'll go. I do have the beginning of a new proposition though (just don't call it Day One of my NYE resolutions): I will be holding off any purchases for the next two weeks and eating zero junk. (I am defining "junk" here as anything that comes in a processed package, bubbly drinks, and drinking during the week). Sure, two weeks sounds easy, but I have gotten into the nasty habit of spoiling myself with things and food, and that has to stop. So maybe join me? We'll be fiscally responsible adults together! And who knows, maybe at the end of these two weeks we'll be feeling a lot healthier too after cutting out all processed junk and eating past 9pm.

Happy "Monday"!

xx

I'm a sucker for buttoned-up shirts. Fact. I have about a dozen of them and am no stranger to buttoning them up all the way to the tippy top — almost like it was mandatory, say a uniform of sorts. I'm not sure why, since I'm pretty sure they'd look equally fantastic with a little room to breathe. I'm just not one to show much skin, I guess, and find an equal sexiness is the conservative. There's just something about the way a buttoned-up outfit can look almost subversively proper that suits my personality. Especially when there's a stud or two to be noticed — on the shirt, the ears, and the wrist.

Sweet Disposition

Cinco De Mayo was very mellow for me...in the day time at least. It consisted of sleeping in after what can only be described as a busy effing week to end all weeks. So when it came time for the weekend all bets were off. I slipped back into a super casual mode (slightly 80s? No. Slightly Balenciaga Fall 2012.). Track shorts? Yes. I put on Zara printed track shorts and a crewneck A.L.C sweater. Remember crewneck anything? They were the kind of sweaters you'd wear when you were 5 years old and you'd your mom layer them over turtlnecks, and they were emblazoned with some sort of elementary school logo. (Full disclosure: I may still have such a sweater, tucked away in a drawer for sentimental value). So I guess a retro crew neck was appropriate for Cinco de Mayo this weekend because all of my childhood memories of Cinco de Mayo consist of sustained silent reading (SSR), recess, and school-wide assemblies in the auditorium celebrating a Mexican dance in which I was performing.

The Most Beautiful Bouquet of Silk Shorts You'll Own

D&G silk floral printed shorts are like staring at a peony, which happens to be my favorite flower. So why not dress like one? The shorts are delicate, dainty, and feminine. Accenting the floral aspect of them with a petal-like Rochas ruffle collar blouse is fashion forward and dressed up at the same time. My ultimate favorite shoes of all time, the Manolo Blahnik CC patent leather pumps. Holy crap, I must have waited months for these to be back in stock. They look classic in photos, and they are amazing in person. If ever a splurge, this is it, ladies.
